info: A flame song of the first caliber. The fact that we hear eternal
whispers of Adieu, yet only end up hearing it briefly during The Real Folk Blues pt. 2 adds
a kind of dramatic quality to the song. Because the audience has been teased with
this melody throughout the series, our final hearing of bittersweet vocal version
becomes a kind of climax. When I first heard it, along with the image of Julia
on the screen, it gave me the chills. Like most of the music of Bebop, beautifully
written, beautifully performed, and beautifully executed in conjunction with the
images on screen.

Blues, part 2
lyrics: by Brian Richy -
Been a fool, been a clown
Lost my way from up and down
And I know, yes I know
That you really weren't surprised at me at all
Not at all
And I know by your smile it's you
Don't care for me, don't cry
Let's say good-bye, Adieu.
It's time to say good-bye, I know that in time
It will just fade away, It's time to say good-bye
I stand alone and watch you fade away like clouds
High up and in the sky
I'm strong and so cold
As I stand alone
Good-bye, so long, adieu
Oh how I love you so, lost in those memories
And now you've gone
I feel the pain, feeling like a fool, adieu
My love for you burns deep
inside me, so strong
embers of times we had
and now, here I stand lost in a memory
I see your face and smile
[piano break]
Oh how I love you so, lost in those memories
And now you've gone
I feel the pain, feeling like a fool, adieu
My love for you burns deep
inside me, so strong
embers of times we had
and now, here I stand lost in a memory
I see your face and smile
